Introduction: In order to the implementation of “SEPAS" which is the development of electronic health Records in Iran, the creation and documentation of the essential data in the HIS seems necessary. The purpose of this study was to evaluate comptability of the hospital information systems (HIS) in Kerman teaching, Private and Social Security hospitals with minimum clinical data set developed by Iran’s Ministry of Health.

Method: This study was a descriptive cross-sectional study. The checklist developed by the Ministry of Health was used to evaluate the compliance with minimum data set (MDS) in 5 HISs of 9 teaching, private and social security hospitals. The study was conducted in the second half of 2014 in the City of Kerman, Iran.

Results: The results showed that, software No.2 had the highest conformity level (%100) for the “medication and medical consumables data”, and (%97) in “Paraclinical data”, software No.5 had the lowest conformity levels (%79) and (%86) for the two forgoing indexes, respectively. It was also found that none of the HISs contained sub-categories of “diagnosis & death” data set including data on the “morphology of neoplasm” as well as “the place and time of death”.

Conclusion: Given the importance of the MDS in integrating the data relating to the patients, implementation of the MDS developed by the Ministry of Health in the HISs is quite substantial by the system’s developers as well as ensuring its registration by the system users in the medical centers.

Introduction: Using antisense oligonucleotides for targeting essential genes is one of the new methods to control microbial infections. The aim of this study was to investigate four antisense oligonucleotides against rpoD gene of staphylococcus aurous, and to find the probable match in human genes.

Method: First, rpoD gene of staphylococcus aurous was extracted from NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information) database. Then, its mRNA sequence was generated and four antisense were selected according to secondary structure of mRNA and thermodynamic parameters. Finally, matching of each selected antisense and all human genome with Nblast algorithm, was evaluated.

Results: This study showed that according to secondary structure and thermodynamic parameters, antisense 1, GAAGAAGTTGGTA, was the best antisense, and had the least Overall ∆G. Matching antisense sequences showed that antisense 1, 2, and 4 had different targets at human mRNA level. But, antisense 3, GAAGCAATTAATT, was ideal and could target only rpoD gene.

Conclusion: Given to secondary structure and thermodynamic parameters, the adequate antisense could be selected for target gene, but most of these antisense targeting other genes in human cells.

Introduction: Internet booking system effectively reduces patient’s waiting time and increase patient satisfaction with health care centers, so the rate of using it is increased. The aim of this study was the evaluation of the internet booking websites of the Universities of Medical Sciences in Iran.

Method: This study is a descriptive cross-sectional study which was conducted in 2014. Data was collected through a self-designed check list and study of health care center’s websites (hospitals and clinics). Excel 2007 software was used to summarize and report data.

Results: Findings showed that only 9% of the health care centers in the country using internet booking systems. Rayavaran Company more than other companies has worked in design and implementation of such systems. Also, the mean score of “user friendly” of available websites was 4.4. Among the studied centers, internet booking systems of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences had the best status.

Conclusion: Most of the health care centers do not use the internet booking websites. The available websites have the capabilities such as search, getting information, giving tracking code and independent port, and the abilities including change or cancel the appointment and useful links are used less in websites. So, it is suggested that the authorities increase the use of internet booking websites in health care centers in the country.

Introduction: Health care is a very vital field which the slightest error, such as medical errors may due to irreparable damage to the patient’s life. Therefore, information technology is useful for improving hospital performance and providing qualified services for patients.

Method: This analytical- descriptive and cross sectional study was conducted in 2015. The study population were all employees and specialists in pathology laboratories in Zahedan and Iranshahr city which 77 of them were selected randomly as a sample size. Data were collected using researcher-made questionnaire which its reliability and validity were confirmed. The data were analyzed using SPSS software version 21.

Results: The findings indicated that the mean score of laboratory workers' skills was 2/13 of 5 and the mean score of awareness to RFID technology was 2/70. In addition, the mean score of participants' attitude towards the technology was 3/50 which represent a positive attitude.

Conclusion: Because the use of this technology is new in the field of health care, it can be concluded personnel are not familiar with this technology and its benefits, and they are hesitant to use it. Also, due to the lack of familiarity and support of senior management, employees are reluctant to use information technology.

Introduction: The progressive increase in the elderly population in many developed countries leading to focus on health in this age group. Recording adequate data for the elderly people is considered as the basis for future planning for this part of society. Therefore, this study was aimed to compare the minimum data about elderly health in selected countries.

Method: This is a review article was carried out through internet and library studies. The Keywords were extracted from search engines and databases including Google, Yahoo, Google Scholar, PubMed and Proquest, and the Iranian National Medical Digital Library using inclusion criteria included English language and no time limit. All papers, research projects, theses, guidelines and progress reports were retrieved from America, Sweden, Japan and Iran. Also, Web sites of organizations responsible for elderly health in each country were visited and their documents were reviewed. The results of this search were presented narratively and within comparative tables.

Results: The results of this study showed that in selected countries, elder’s data collected in four axis. Most of demographic data is completed in America. In Sweden, Iran and Japan some data from medical histories and health assessment are considered as well as some financial data in Iran.

Conclusion: Given the importance of the health minimum data set for future planning, using the experiences of the pioneer countries in health is necessary, but localization of it according to the country’s needs is inevitable.

Introduction: In recent decades because of the high mortality from cardiovascular disease, many technologies have been established in order to deal with it. One of these technologies is Tele ECG which is very practical in remote areas. Regarding the significant rural population in the country, the aim of this study was to identify and explan required applications and infrastructures of the Tele ECG and the necessity of using it.

Method: This is a review was carried out by running a search in valid databases and evaluation of published articles between 2005 to 2015.

Results: The results of this study show that use of Tele ECG’s application is very simple and doesn’t require a lot of resources and infrastructures. In rural areas is very useful and is very low cost.

Conclusion: With respect to wide geographical distribution and considerable population in rural area of Iran, Tele ECG can be effective application to management of patients with cardiac disease in remote areas and reduction of death rate from cardiovascular disease.
