abstract ={Introduction: LIS is a system developed for the purpose of collecting, processing, storing, and retrieving the data created in laboratory context. Accordingly, this research intends to evaluate the performance of the LIS based on the standards of the ‎American National Standards Institute (ANSI) in the educational and private hospitals situated in the city of Isfahan. Method: This study is applied and descriptive-analytical in nature. The data were collected using a self-designed checklist prepared on the basis of standards of the ANSI including LIS-8A and LIS2-A, the validity and reliability of which were assessed and confirmed by the experts on laboratory and computer sciences as well as the department’s professors. The data were analyzed using SPSS 20 software using some statistical tests including T-test and ANOVA test so as to examine the informational content of the LISs based on three criteria, namely, data input, data storage, and processing and data output using the foregoing standard. In addition, LEVEN test was used for checking the equality of the variances. Results: Based on the findings of the study, the mean score for the three criteria (data input, data storage and processing, and data output) examined, referring to the standards, was found to be 27.53. As a result, the private and educational hospitals under study did not show any difference in this regard. Furthermore, among the systems in question and in terms of the level of meeting three standards, Kowsar system (%44.5) enjoyed the highest rank compared to other software systems. Conclusion: Given the results, it was found that the standards under study for the LISs have not been given due attention. Hence, it is recommended that the proposed standards be examined and studied by organizations so that a user-friendly and responsive system can be developed based on the results of the needs-analysisdone from the beneficiary organizations.},

abstract ={Introduction: The missing values in medical data may impact the data mining process and any kind of interpretation. Thus the treatment of these missing values is a necessary task. In this research, the effect of various methods of dealing with missing values on medical data classification accuracy is evaluated. Method: This paper studied the effect of missing data replacement methods including Mean/Mode, Hot Deck, K-Nearest Neighbor, Maximum Possible Value, All Possible Value, Case Deletion, and Regression on classification accuracy for two popular classifiers namely K-nearest-neighbor and Neural Networks from Weka Data mining tool on 10 medical datasets including Breast Cancer, Cardiac Problems, Dermatology, Hepatitis, Thyroid, Diabetes, Primary Tumor, Liver Patient, Lung Cancer and Post-Operative Patient. These were selected from the six amounts of missing values. For classification accuracy estimation, the 10-fold cross validation method is used. Results: The results show that although the mean/mode method almost had better classification improvement that, none of the replacement methods for all amounts of missing values, is not always the most accurate classification with increasing amounts of missing values for the K-nearest-neighbor classifier. There was no supremacy for all the replacement methods against the various amounts of missing values for any of the replacement methods for all data sets with different amounts of missing values. Conclusion: The current study shows that the replacement methods that have been evaluated for all the different rates of missing values do not necessarily improve the accuracy of classification and none of the investigated replacement methods is not absolutely the best one.},

abstract ={Introduction: The aim of this research is to improve Colorectal Cancer screening trying to control an individual lifestyle to reduce the probability of developing Colorectal Cancer, detect the disease in early stages, and then accelerate the screening of risky individuals and postpone the screening of ones with low risk. Method: In this retrospective study information of 309 individuals including 84 patients whose diagnosis had been between years 2006 to 2013 and 225 healthy individuals were collected through phone or face to face interviews and exploring patient medical records. Popular techniques to develop classification models in clouding support vector machine, naive bayes, k-nearest neighbor, and decision tree were applied. Finally actionable models were determined according to both types of measures and based on domain-driven data mining approach. Results: The results show that most of the developed models have acceptable evaluation results in predicting lifestyles. The developed non-technical measure clearly distinguishes the value of every false negative prediction and every true positive prediction itself. And finally, the actionable classifiers have been selected for domain practitioners. Only two of all the developed classifiers could satisfy both technical and non-technical measures. Conclusion: The results showed developed models must not only be evaluated by technical measures, but also be evaluated by medical domain interestingness, and also their application ability to actual problem solving should be explored.},

title = {A Comparative Study of Three Standards of Data Security in Health Systems},
abstract ={Introduction: The increasing influence of ICT on health and changing information systems to electrical form makes using the information, data transmission, and also preparation printouts of information so easy that the importance of internal and external disclosure policy, data security, and confidentiality standards in these systems have been doubled. Method: At the beginning of research, all the combinations of key words were searched, then the history and importance of the health data security standards were studied. So the most prevalent and reliable standards were selected to perform the full text. For the next step the researchers extracted the properties which were used to be compared with the selected standards and finally the comparison was discussed. Results: PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and ISO-27799:2008 properties were classified in 8 groups and 25 subgroups. ISO-27799:2008 was attended to all properties in Encryption group, but HIPAA was just attended to Encryption in storage, and asymmetric key, and PCI-DSS was considered on Encryption in storage, using Hash algorithm and use of asymmetric key. Operation system security was considered only in HIPAA. Only PCI-DSS standard considered RFID and DNS security and cell phone security, and PCI-DSS as well as ISO-27799:2008 considered wireless networks security. Conclusion: One can use the standard that is stronger in context. So, it is recommended to use PCI-DSS for cell phone or PDA systems, and ISO-27799:2008 or PCI-DSS for wireless networks. It is better for security in operation systems to use HIPAA. Combined standard with all these three standards aspects can be used as the safest approach.},
