Introduction: The high demand for the patients' documents cause a great change in service provision methods. Different systems have been established during decades to feed this need. The use of information technology in different parts of health care system, particularly in hospitals, has high potential for improving the quality of provided services. One of these technologies is Electronic Medical Record (EMR). This study is aimed to determine the factors affecting the intention to use EMR from the perspective of top and middle managers of Shiraz educational hospitals.
Method: This research is a cross sectional analytic-descriptive study. The study population were top and middle managers of Shiraz educational hospitals. Data were collected using searcher-made questionnaire with six sections. The data was collected by a researcher-made questionnaire that its content validity was confirmed by specialists. Its reliability was confirmed using Cronbach’s alpha. The data was analyzed by Regression and Pearson, independent sample t-test, and ANOVA Tests using SPSS16 software.
Results: The results showed‌ that there isn't a relationship between demographics and the variables in the study. Also there was a significant relationship between effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, familiarity with technology, perceived ease of use, and attitude toward use of EMR with intention to use.
Conclusion: With the improvement of effort expectancy, facilitating condition, managers' familiarity with technology, perceived ease of use, and attitude toward use can raise the intention to use EMR by top and middle managers. Increasing the intention to use can also avoid probable failure of the system during performance.

Introduction: LIS is a system developed for the purpose of collecting, processing, storing, and retrieving the data created in laboratory context. Accordingly, this research intends to evaluate the performance of the LIS based on the standards of the ‎American National Standards Institute (ANSI) in the educational and private hospitals situated in the city of Isfahan.
Method: This study is applied and descriptive-analytical in nature. The data were collected using a self-designed checklist prepared on the basis of standards of the ANSI including LIS-8A and LIS2-A, the validity and reliability of which were assessed and confirmed by the experts on laboratory and computer sciences as well as the department’s professors. The data were analyzed using SPSS 20 software using some statistical tests including T-test and ANOVA test so as to examine the informational content of the LISs based on three criteria, namely, data input, data storage, and processing and data output using the foregoing standard. In addition, LEVEN test was used for checking the equality of the variances.
Results: Based on the findings of the study, the mean score for the three criteria (data input, data storage and processing, and data output) examined, referring to the standards, was found to be 27.53. As a result, the private and educational hospitals under study did not show any difference in this regard. Furthermore, among the systems in question and in terms of the level of meeting three standards, Kowsar system (%44.5) enjoyed the highest rank compared to other software systems.
Conclusion: Given the results, it was found that the standards under study for the LISs have not been given due attention. Hence, it is recommended that the proposed standards be examined and studied by organizations so that a user-friendly and responsive system can be developed based on the results of the needs-analysisdone from the beneficiary organizations.

Introduction: The missing values in medical data may impact the data mining process and any kind of interpretation. Thus the treatment of these missing values is a necessary task. In this research, the effect of various methods of dealing with missing values on medical data classification accuracy is evaluated.

Method: This paper studied the effect of missing data replacement methods including Mean/Mode, Hot Deck, K-Nearest Neighbor, Maximum Possible Value, All Possible Value, Case Deletion, and Regression on classification accuracy for two popular classifiers namely K-nearest-neighbor and Neural Networks from Weka Data mining tool on 10 medical datasets including Breast Cancer, Cardiac Problems, Dermatology, Hepatitis, Thyroid, Diabetes, Primary Tumor, Liver Patient, Lung Cancer and Post-Operative Patient. These were selected from the six amounts of missing values. For classification accuracy estimation, the 10-fold cross validation method is used.

Results: The results show that although the mean/mode method almost had better classification improvement that, none of the replacement methods for all amounts of missing values, is not always the most accurate classification with increasing amounts of missing values for the K-nearest-neighbor classifier. There was no supremacy for all the replacement methods against the various amounts of missing values for any of the replacement methods for all data sets with different amounts of missing values.

Conclusion: The current study shows that the replacement methods that have been evaluated for all the different rates of missing values do not necessarily improve the accuracy of classification and none of the investigated replacement methods is not absolutely the best one.

Introduction: The development of terminological systems is one of the requirements of the exchange of information in health information systems. A group of these terminological systems is drug terminology. In this study, we reviewed and introduced one of the drug terminological systems called NDF-RT's (National Drug File-Reference Terminology) and explained its applications systematically.
Method: This research has been done using two methods: a systematic review to identify studies concerning the application of NDF-RT and a non-systematic review to introduce this system. Articles were searched in Pub Med and Google Scholar databases. In the systematic review, the papers information including title, author's affiliation, year of publication, journal's name, and application of NDF-RT, were extracted and analyzed using Microsoft excel 2010.
Results: NDF-RT classification system classifies drugs based on their structure, ingredients, and their physiologic effects. In our systematic review, thirteen papers were retrieved, nine of which have evaluated NDF-RT system for usability and deployment of the system in health care environments, diagnosis and drug relationships, and accuracy of drugs classification.
Conclusion: NDF-RT drug terminology is one of the most comprehensive terminological systems for the classification of drugs which can be used for drugs information standardization in health information systems.
